A non-refundable $150 deposit

Dates may be booked up to one year out.

For self-directed, non-Oblate directed retreats requiring the assistance of the Oblates of St. Joseph for liturgical or sacramental services (e.g., confessions, Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament), requests for these services should be made at the time of booking to determine availability and allow for ample time to schedule.

Non-youth Retreats and Events

Marello Youth Retreat Center upholds a mission to serve youth and young adults. For this reason, priority is given to youth and young adult retreat gatherings. However, other non-youth retreat events and functions are considered up to one month in advance of dates not previously reserved and confirmed for youth retreats. All other requirements apply regarding Application and Policies forms, and a confirming deposit.

Marello Youth Retreat Center reserves the right to decline any Application for Use.

Safety

Please respect property guidelines and perimeters. We ask that supervision and care be exercised to ensure that retreatants do not venture down to the water district’s drainage reservoir, or up the hill to the seminary without permission.

Fire hazard is a very real condition of Placer County. Marello Youth Retreat Center’s hilly terrain is covered with dry golden grasses and plants for nearly half the year. For this reason, no outdoor fires, or fire pits are allowed.

These measures are strictly adhered to in order to ensure the safety and protection of minors.

  • Marello Youth Retreat Center honors and adheres to the Charter for the Protection of Young People and all other requirements prescribed by the Diocese of Sacramento. Groups that visit Marello Youth Retreat Center must verify their compliance with Charter and Diocesan policies regarding conduct, youth safety, and adult fingerprinting.
  • Marello Youth Retreat Center strictly enforces laws regarding tobacco, alcohol and firearms.
  • Marello Youth Retreat Center is a non-smoking facility. There is extreme fire danger in the vicinity due to dry grasses and brush.
  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises during youth retreats.
  • Group leaders are encouraged to obtain and carry emergency and medical contact information for all retreat participants.

Ecologically Friendly

Recycling

Recycling containers are on the premises for recycling plastic bottles and cans. Please ensure the use of these receptacles for that purpose. No other types of recyclables should be disposed of in these containers. Thank you for your cooperation.

Energy Conservation

Attentiveness to consumption of energy is appreciated. Please monitor thermostats and check to ensure that doors and windows are closed when operating air conditioning or heating units.

Care for the Environment

The natural environment and rural setting invite retreatants to appreciate God’s gift of nature. Please ensure that the natural setting is respected for the beautiful, peaceful place that it is. All waste should be properly disposed of.
