Types of Retreats

Oblate-directed Retreats

Your retreat at Marello Youth Retreat Center can be designed to fit the unique needs of your group. Mini-retreats, day retreats, overnight and weekend retreats are all options for your consideration.

If you are interested in working with the Oblates of St. Joseph to design a retreat at which they will serve as your retreat director, contact the Marello Youth Retreat Center to schedule an appointment.

Some possible retreat themes may include:

• Sacrament preparation (e.g., Confirmation)
• Vocation awareness
• Respecting & honoring cultural influences
• Understanding relationships (parents, siblings, peers, society)
• Recognizing inner creativity
• Exploring self (image and outlook)

During the retreat, various methods and styles of presentation will be used to ensure that youth have several opportunities to benefit from the retreat content.

Retreatants will engage in:

• Presentation/talks
• Small group discussion
• Sharing
• Media/video clips
• Personal experience/testimony
• Prayer & meditation
• Music & Worship
• Recreation/icebreakers

There is a retreat direction fee applied for Oblate-direction retreats.

Self-directed Retreats

Groups which are “self-directed” arranging for their own retreat director to join them, may reserve Marello Retreat Center by calling the Retreat Center to determine available dates.

Special Retreats

Periodically, the Oblates of St. Joseph offer special retreats. These may be offered to selected audiences and age groups.
